The Orthopaedic school pillow for children is recommended for children aged from 3 to 6 years old, and it has a special, gently-profiled internal core in flexible, supportive expanded polyurethane, very comfortable for head and neck. The fill consists of hypoallergenic eco-recycled polyester fibre wadding, carded and in a series of successive layers.
More specifically, it is recommended for use by school-age children who sleep on their back and sides, or in the foetal position, the most suitable postures. Starting from this age, children could begin adopting bad posture due to excessively heavy school backpacks, thus starting to suffer from pains in the neck and shoulders.
The Orthopaedic school pillow can therefore help prevent problems in the cervical column in adulthood, if correctly used in association with adequate physical exercise.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a system for the independent, uniform monitoring and certification, at an international level, of raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products in the textile sector, at every stage of production, and of the accessory materials used.
On the basis of the extensive, stringent list of requisites including several hundred individual substances subject to regulation, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® comprises:
As a result of its decade-long experience, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® helps to guarantee a high and effective level of product safety from the consumer’s point of view. The assessment criteria and the limit values applied are far more stringent than the parameters followed at national and international level. The detailed product tests and the periodical corporate audits also make it possible to increase industry awareness to a responsible use of chemical substances, in the long term and on a global scale. For many years, a dominant role has been attributed to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® regarding this concept.
The OEKO-TEX® checks on toxic substances are principally designed in consideration of the way in which textiles and materials are used. The closer the contact of a product with the skin, and the more sensitive the skin, the more stringent the required compliance with human and ecological requisites.
The product classes are subdivided as follows:

The term Medical Device refers to any instrument, appliance, device, software, substance or other product, used on its own or in combination – including the software necessary for the device’s correct functioning – intended by its manufacturer to be used on human individuals for:
A specific characteristic of Medical Devices is that they do not achieve their principal intended action in or on the human body by pharmacological, immunological or metabolic means, but they are assisted by such means.
For all these devices, identification with the CE Mark is mandatory, namely the declaration of compliance for medical devices.
The CE Mark comprises the application of a mark by the manufacturer, which shows that the product is compliant with the essential requisites required by the relevant EU Directives.
In the case of Medical Devices, the requisites concern safety and efficacy, and they regard both the devices and their manufacturing process.
The standard harmonised with the 93/42/EEC Directive is ISO 13485:2012 Medical Devices-Quality Management Systems – Requirements for regulatory purposes, which specifies the requisites for the Quality Management System of organisations manufacturing Medical Devices, and its function is to show that the Devices and the respective services meet the provisions of legislation and the needs of the end-user.
The CE Marking procedure comprises a series of actions on the part of the manufacturer, and the intervention of a Body authorised for certain risk classes.
FABRIC IN 100% COTTON PERCALE WITH HYGIENIC SILVERPLUS® TREATMENT
Guarantees hygiene, protection and coolness – both in everyday life and in extreme conditions
With hygienic, cool SILVERPLUS® treatment, by means of highly innovative finishing procedures with silver ions. These are liberated in small, precisely-calibrated quantities every time that it is necessary, exclusively in the presence of moisture.
Fabrics in close contact with the skin represent an environment that is particularly suitable for micro-organisms such as bacteria, which flourish as a result of body moisture and produce unpleasantly odorous substances in the presence of perspiration. The SilverPlus® treatment guarantees a notable anti-microbial and bacteriostatic effect, helping to fight unsavoury odours right from their origin.
While usually bacteria are removed from a fabric by washing at a temperature of at least 60°C, SilverPlus® proves to be effective even at low temperatures, permitting savings of energy and money and protecting the environment. In addition, this property enables it to sanitise even the most delicate materials, which otherwise would be damaged. Fabrics treated with SilverPlus® also show a remarkable resistance to washing and dry cleaning: its efficacy is guaranteed for a long period of time.
The SilverPlus® treatment complies with the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100; it has no effect on the skin’s natural pH (Hohenstein research study); noxious substances are not used; the process is eco-compatible; it meets the Bluesign® standard, which certifies the responsible, sustainable manufacture of textile products.
